Students will never realize their full potential until they are challenged. Students can receive that challenge by entering events in which they have not previously competed. The CAP event is designed to encourage students to broaden their scope of communication and leadership abilities. This helps students become well-rounded individuals who have skills that can be used in many ministries of the church.
Requirements
- Contestants must enter and place in Christian Living and in each of the following categories: Academics, Music (Vocal or Instrumental), Platform, and either in Arts & Crafts or Media.
- To qualify for CAP competition, all group events must have four or fewer members (quartets, trios, etc.).
- The only exceptions are One-Act Plays and Radio Programs which may have up to five members.
- A student may enter more than one event in a CAP category (i.e. piano solo and vocal trio). The single event in each category with the highest placing will be used to calculate the CAP score.
- It is not necessary to declare which events are CAP, provided there is at least one entry in each of the required categories. All eligible contestants will automatically be entered into CAP.
- Entry in the CAP competition will not count as one of the five performance events or the total of twelve events in which a contestant may enter.
- There is no limit to the number of contestants from each school that may compete in CAP.
